upland wing shooting clinic with Journey Afield

The excitement of winged game often prompts a rushed mount that can make the shot feel disconnected. This is an opportunity for experienced Guns to refine mechanics and heighten their connection to the bird through the entire shot.

Efficient moves make the shot feel slower, and in the end - Slow is Fast.

The pursuit of winged game is a life-style as well as a hunt, so we’ll also discuss topics that will help make you feel more confident taking part - especially if you’re new to the hunting side of things. We’ll engage you in the ethos of the hunt from etiquette in the field, to unwritten dress codes and what not to wear, loads and chokes, and safety with other Guns and around dogs.

This course is suited for those with a background in shotgun shooting and now wish to refine their approach to enhance success on winged game and clays. If you’re unsure if this course fits with your skill level, send a note and we’ll help guide you toward the clinic or lesson that fits your needs best.

There’s plenty of hands-on practice to help you gain practical skills. You can expect to shoot 100-200 rounds - bring your own ammo (available for purchase on site).

Dress for the weather and bring both ear and eye protection, as well as a range bag or similar to carry your ammo, etc.

Registration fee - $265 per person, plus target fees.

Excellent coaching and in a real world setting. Should take this if you really want to improve your shooting.
